Patios can be located on the rear or at the entrance of a house. The patios expands the compound and can allow outdoor activities with relatives and friends to be conducted. Concrete is the most common material that people use in the construction of patios. From time to time these patios get damaged by various agents such as human foot, vehicles among others. Although concrete is strong and durable later it is subject to be repaired. Weather conditions that are unfavourable are also believed to cause cracks on the concrete patios. Finishing of concrete patios is very crucial and if not properly done may be result of cracks or other damages. When carrying out the repair it’s important that you do it when the weather is not hot or windy. Cracks are repaired using a mix of concrete and a cleansing agent added with acid and epoxy tubes. The mixture should be able to dry very slowly. First, examine the patios surface to find out how much epoxy is required to fix the crack. Using the acid cleaning agent then cleanse the spot. This agent makes the new concrete mix fix well on the old one. The concrete and the cleaning agent are then put into all cracks through the injection process. Give the epoxy time to dry. Then apply the concrete mixture gently on the existing surface and give it time to go dry prior people start using it. Taking this precaution inhibits more damages that can be as a result.
When the damages that are to be repaired are flakes caused by settlement of rainwater on the cracks another procedure may be used. One is required to remove all pieces that are loose using a chisel. Widening of the narrow cracks on the patios is done in order to ensure proper filling of the flakes is carried out. When the cracks are large then the spots are cleansed using a shop vacuum. To remove the excess one water is sprayed on the surface. A gout is then applied on the cracks or step wisely on the layers giving time for each to dry. A resurfacer may be used when the cracks to be filled are small. Freezing water may also cause flakes on the concrete patios. They are the easiest damages to repair on patios. One removes the loose pieces and then cleanses the spot. Water with sufficient pressure is used to remove the particles as the excess one is cleared away. Application of the concrete mixture on the cracks on the patios is done and its then allowed to dry. Application of the skim coat is done on the cemented surface as the last step once patching of the flakes have been done.
Once all these has been carried out then patio is considered to have been repaired. The use of the patio by people can resume after sometime once drying has taken place.
